The problem of modern slavery is so big and so nebulous that sometimes it feels like there is nothing we can do. There is always something.
You can read this article in The Guardian about the slave labour being used to bring prawns from Thailand to our plates.
You can refuse to buy prawns from the following supermarkets that use the firm which is linked to slave labour in Thailand via their purchase chain, CP Foods:-
Walmart, Carrefour, Costco and Tesco and others including Morrisons, the Co-operative, Aldi, and Iceland
You can ask yourself why it is that their food is cheap and affordable
You can sign this petition – although you’ll have to be quick!
We shouldn’t be using our capacity for enjoyment – which after all is a form of play – to dominate others. Giving up prawns isn’t going to hurt you, but carrying on eating them without thinking will definitely hurt others.
