Going to church

Why go to Church?
Because it’s too hard to be Christian without support, friendship, understanding, learning. Going to church is like going to the gym., Everyone knows that they can’t be fit without going to the gym or at the least doing some exercise. Everyone knows you don’t become a concert pianist without practising for hours every day. Why does anyone think that getting to know God and yourself – which is basically what Christianity is about – would be any different? You don’t become someone’s friend by sitting back and expecting to learn about them by osmosis, you spend time in their company, you want to know what they think, you want to hang out with other people who also like that person. Church is those things and it’s 1 hour out of your life. We have 168 hours a week, we could probably manage to give up one of those once in a while.
