Glory, glory

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday.

We always view Palm Sunday in the light of what happened on Good Friday, so it can be tainted with our own knowledge of what the same crowd that welcomes Jesus will do to him just 5 days later. And with our knowledge that we would most likely have been part of that crowd.

But the Palm Sunday reaction to Jesus is exactly how we and the crowd, should react to Jesus. It is an amazing thing to see God’s Messiah finally entering Jerusalem. He is our leader. It should be a day of celebration because it is his victory triumph. By making, and sticking with, the decision to come to Jerusalem, despite all the dangers and the guessed at consequence, Jesus freed us from ourselves. That’s what I am going to focus on tomorrow. The joy, the positivity and the exuberance of Palm Sunday.
