I found this video particularly inspiring and stimulating. Cornel West (Class of 1943 Professor at Princeton, phillosopher, author, critic and jazz enthusiast) talks about life and death. Lent is about dying to self and he argues you can’t really live until you die. It’s a refreshing viewpoint living in a society that feels that tries to control and avoid death rather than facing it head on.
He’s better at explaining it than me.
