In the interests of making my life more difficult/a living hell/a descent into madness (delete as appropriate) I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year.
The aim is to write 50,000 words in 30 days (starting on Saturday 1st November).
This is not about quality- this is about quantity. It’s about the challenge of succeeding and of course the humiliation of failing.
Being a glutton for punishment – or less pessimistically hopeful of human nature – I am letting you all know that I am doing this in the hope that you will aid me in my search to churn out 50k words by the end of the month. I am making my endeavour public as I suspect it will be extremely humiliating if I fail!
You can follow my word count on the counter on the right. I don’t think you can read it as I go along,it’s more about the amount of words. I do have a synopsis but it’s not a good indication as yet and you can also follow my progress at http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/248149.
Well – wish me luck.I am not sure if I will make it but I do know that if I am ever going to write a novel this will be the only way I can manage it!
