I love South Park – yes occasionally I find it offensive to my Christian faith, but I’m in good company, Matt Stone and Trey Parker are “equal opportunities offenders” they offend everyone – it still makes me laugh. Martin Samuel wrote an article today in The Times about South Park (oh get over it, good journalism exists everywhere). It was about the importance of South Park’s offensiveness in an environment in which we are getting more and more concerned with offending people and not allowing them to stand up for and develop their ideas. South Park – comedy, piss-taking, frivolity. But this is a frivolity which is very far from frivolous, rather then regurgitate the article for you perhaps you would like to read it – and then perhaps get out South Park the movie and settle down for an excellent evening of offense.
