Hello world!

October 5, 2006

Welcome to Spirituality of Play. The purpose of this blog is to explore what a Christian response is to the idea that our Western World is moving away from a work ethic towards a play ethic, what that means for our spirituality and our response and reaching out to our world.

I also want to use it to explore ideas about the playfulness of God and play in relation to our humanity.

I’ve been inspired to start this blog by a talk given by Pat Kane (yes formerly of Hue and Cry and now a respected academic) on the London Games Fringe yesterday.

You can see a couple of thoughts that others have written about it on Unexpected Media.

For myself I’m a Christian and I write another (non-Christian) blog and manage a magazine online for thinking Christian women and work in New Media. Click here for more detail….
